Hyderabad, Aug.12 (NSS): The Rajiv Jyothi Yatra that started from Sriperumbadur in Tamil Nadu on August 8 reached the Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday.
Former MP V Hanumantha Rao and Mahila Congress President Sunita Rao received the Jyothi Yatra.
The Rajiv Jyothi Yatra is held every year from Sriperumbadur to New Delhi on the occasion of former prime minister late Rajiv Gandhi’s birthday. It will reach the national capital on August 20 via Nizamabad and Adilabad districts in Telangana.
The team members of Jyothi Yatra will hand over the torch to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi near Rajiv Veer Bhoomi in New Delhi.
The main objective of the Yatra is to spread political ideologies of Rajiv Gandhi and create awareness among people against terrorism.
