Release flood relief funds immediately: CM Revanth urges Centre

Hyderabad, Sept.13 (NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has once again requested the Union government that funds be released immediately without any conditions to help the flood victims in Telangana.

The Chief Minister held a meeting with officials of the Central team, who toured the flood-affected areas in Telangana to assess the damage, at the Secretariat here on Friday. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, MP Raghuram Reddy, Adviser to CM Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari and other officials were present.

During the meeting, Revanth Reddy  brought several requests to the notice of the central team regarding the damage caused by floods in Telangana and said that the Union government should release funds immediately for the flood relief.

He stated that building a retaining wall at the Munneru River in Khammam is a permanent solution to prevent from the floods and said that a separate budget should be allocated to take permanent measures to control the floods in the future.

The Chief Minister also requested that the Union government should  prepare an action plan for a permanent solution to the  floods in the country.
