Telangana Congress protests against BJP over remarks on Rahul Gandhi

Hyderabad, Sept.18 (NSS): Protesting against controversial comments made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Telangana Congress leaders staged a protest outside the BJP State office at Nampally here on Wednesday.

The gathering of Congress leaders led to heightened tensions at the site, as police intervened to prevent them from proceeding. This resulted in clashes between Congress workers and police.

Amidst the unrest, Congress leaders sat in protest outside the BJP office, chanting slogans against the BJP leadership. They demanded an immediate apology to Rahul Gandhi, asking  to take stringent action against the BJP leaders for making violent remarks against the Leader of Opposition ( LoP) in the Lok Sabha.

The protest was organised led by Telangana Congress Women’s Wing president Sunitha Rao. The Congress leaders also burnt effigies of Union Ministers and warned that their would intensify their protest till the  BJP tenders an apology to Rahul Gandhi.

Meanwhile, in protest against the inappropriate comments against Rahul Gandhi,  a protest was held and an effigy of the BJP was burnt led by Congress MLC Balmoor Venkat at Narayanaguda circle in the city.

Congress workers in large numbers gathered to express their dissent, raising slogans against the BJP leadership.

MLC Balmoor Venkat stated, “BJP leaders should immediately issue a public apology to Rahul Gandhi. Those who made remarks against him should face charges of attempted murder.”

He criticised BJP leaders for speaking frivolously without addressing public issues, asserting that their comments stem from fear of Rahul Gandhi potentially becoming Prime Minister.

“They cannot bear the increasing popularity of Rahul Gandhi among the people. They should stop making such remarks against him,” the Congress  MLC said.
