CM Revanth lays foundation stone for Integrated Residential School

Hyderabad, Oct.11 (NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid foundation stone for Young India Integrated Residential School at Kondurg village in Shadnagar Assembly Constituency on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the Congress government made a promise of providing quality education and medical care to the poor apart from solving the unemployment problem in Telangana and hoped that the Young India Integrated Residential Schools would provide a better future to the students in the State.

“The State government is reforming the entire education system, aimed at providing high standard education to the poor. It is the reason the process of teachers promotions and transfers has been completed,” Revanth Reddy said.

The Chief Minister criticised that the previous BRS government had deprived the poor children of education and 5,000 government schools were closed in the State.

“Former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao had spent Rs 22 lakh crores budget and borrowed Rs 7 lakh crores during his tenure. But, he didn’t spend at least Rs 10,000 crore to improve infrastructure in government schools. Moreover, he had closed 5,000 government schools with a conspiracy to deprive the poor of education,” Revanth Reddy pointed out.

He said the State government is establishing Young India Integrated Residential Schools to reach education facilities to the poor.

The Chief Minister further stated that separation of SC, ST, BC and minorities will poison their minds and it is the reason,  government is establishing Integrated Residential Schools to study all sections of poor students together regardless of their caste and religion.

In a pointed remark, Revanth Reddy questioned why RS Praveen Kumar, who had once been vocal about education reforms, had not raised these issues since joining the BRS.

He suggested that Praveen Kumar, once a champion for educational equality, had changed after joining KCR’s ranks.

“I have respect for RS Praveen Kumar. I don’t mind which political party he belongs to. But, why is he objecting to the setting up of Young India Integrated Schools in 25 acres with crores of rupees,” the Chief Minister questioned.

“The nobles ( Dora) deprived the poor of education and medical care. These leaders joined hands with nobles and criticised  the government’s efforts for the wellbeing of the weaker sections. As KCR said, should SCs, STs and BCs live by herding sheep and goats,” Revanth Reddy pointed out.

“Our policy is to remove differences between caste and religion. But, KCR’s policy is that their family members should rule the State like kingdoms. Why should only the poor children work as sheep herders and KCR family rule the State,” the Chief Minister asked.
