Telangana tourism shines at World Travel Market in London

Hyderabad, Nov.7 (NSS): Minister for Tourism Jupally Krishna Rao joined Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at the closing ceremony of the World Travel Market (WTM), showcasing Telangana’s tourism potential on the global stage.

During his visit, Union Minister Shekhawat toured the Telangana stall, which featured a vibrant display of cultural heritage, including a showcase of the Bathukamma festival. Minister Jupally presented Shekhawat with a memento of the Charminar.

On the occasion, the Minister emphasised Telangana’s rich heritage and scenic attractions, which were promoted internationally through WTM.

The Telangana stall featured iconic sites such as the Ramappa Temple, Golconda Fort, Charminar, and Warangal Fort. He expressed optimism that the event would boost tourism in Telangana by attracting international travelers interested in heritage monuments.

At the Incredible India stall inauguration, Jupally Krishna Rao joined the High Commissioner of India to the UK, Vikram Doraiswami, and the Director-General of the Ministry of Tourism, Mugdha Sinha.

He noted that Telangana’s approach is to study successful tourism models worldwide to elevate its tourism sector and create more employment opportunities within the state.

Jupally Krishna Rao highlighted the success of WTM in fostering new business connections, networking opportunities, and knowledge exchange in the tourism industry.

He added that Telangana has utilised this platform to connect with agents globally and expand tourism networks.

As part of Telangana’s global tourism promotion, Jupally Krishna Rao led a road show that attracted a large number of Telangana NRIs based in London.

 The Minister urged NRIs to contribute to Telangana’s tourism growth by investing in the sector, encouraging visits to the state, and serving as brand ambassadors for Telangana’s tourism.

He later visited iconic London landmarks, including Big Ben, the London Eye, and Buckingham Palace, as part of his engagement with the UK tourism community.
