SANGAREDDY, Nov.15 (NSS): BRS party working president KT Rama Rao has claimed that Congress workers were released and only BRS party activists were put in jail in the Lagacharla district Collector incident. KTR claimed that the Congress workers were also among those who attacked the officials. KTR met the farmers of Lagacharla village in Sangareddy jail on Friday.
On the occasion, KTR told media persons that the farmers of Lagacherla were fighting that their lands should not be taken away from them and added that the farmers were saying that the Congress government would take away land worth Rs 70 lakh for a real estate project. “The farmers are worried that they are being cheated of Rs 10 lakh. The farmers have been protesting against the government’s actions for nine months now. The daughters of Lagacharla, Hakimpet and two other thandas are crying. CM Revanth Reddy was behaving like a vulture in Telangana. He propagated that pharma companies are polluted. The lands of the poor are being grabbed for Rs 3,000 per acre. Local farmers were upset. I have been fighting for nine months, but no one has stopped,” he said. KTR said if the farmers protested before the authorities, arrests were made in the name of attacks and put in jail. He alleged that a panchayat secretary, who had participated in the caste census, was also arrested and put in jail by the police.
KTR said 70 people were arrested and taken away in two DCMs. “The followers of Sekhar, president of the BRS Party of Dudyala Mandal, were also involved in the attacks. Their lands are also being lost in this pharma company. Congress activists Ramesh, Narsimhulu and Ramulu were also attacked. If you take 70 people away, the Congress workers were released on the orders of the brother of CM Revanth Reddy, Tirupati Reddy. Anumula Tirupati Reddy has instructed that only BRS party activists should be put in jail,” he alleged. KTR said the officials and the police were kneeling down before Tirupati Reddy, who does not hold any post.
