Survey meant to provide welfare schemes to eligible people : Vijayalakshmi

Hyderabad, Nov.22 (NSS): GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi today said that the main objective of the Comprehensive Door-to-Door Family Survey was to provide benefits of government welfare schemes to all the eligible people and added that it would  help in improving the living standards of the people.

On Friday, Vijayalakshmi, along with MLC Balmuri Venkat, visited the Kachiguda  Chappal Bazar   colonies and inspected the comprehensive door-to-door household survey process undertaken to collect social, economic, educational, political, employment and caste data. On this           occasion she asked  enumerators  how many houses per day they were covering and they were facing any issues ? She also   asked the enumerators whether people were giving full details to them ? The enumerators were asked if they were informing the public as to why the survey was being conducted by her . The supervisor and enumerators have been advised to clear the doubts raised by the people when they go  for the survey. She  said that the enumerators should patiently explain the survey and collect the details.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that the comprehensive door-to-door household survey process would  be re-examined at the field level in each division and added that people were  being explained why the survey was  being carried out. “All the people are responding well and are voluntarily coming forward and providing their details,” she said.

On this occasion, the mayor went to the houses of Gopi Singh and R Vinod in Kachiguda Chappal  Bazar Colony and explained to them the purpose of the survey and collected the complete details and registered their details  with the enumerators. The owners of the respective houses told the mayor that the survey of their house had been completed and all the details asked for had  been given without any problem . They also told the mayor that the misconception that had existed so far had been dispelled after she  explained the purpose of the survey. She urged the people not to believe in any false propaganda on the survey and to cooperate by providing proper details to the enumerators who came for the survey. All the details will be kept confidential, she said.

MLC Balmuri Venkat said that the comprehensive house-to-house household survey undertaken by the Telangana government in a historic manner would  be a beacon for the country. He said that all public representatives were  being encouraged to travel extensively and explain the purpose of the survey to the public and provide details. “This survey will be the basis for tomorrow’s people and for the future. We are only taking the details given by the people and not putting any pressure on them ,” he said. He urged people to cooperate to ensure that the survey was  completed successfully.

GHMC Zonal Commissioner Ravi Kiran, Deputy Commissioner Maruti Diwakar, Medical Officer Venkataramana, AMHO Dr. Hemalatha, Supervisor Lavanya, Enumerators Chandrakala, Dhanalakshmi, other public representatives, respective officials and others participated in the program .

Before this , Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi inspected the conduct of comprehensive household survey in Sriram Nagar Basti in Banjara Hills and Bole Nagar in Jubilee Hills.

Jubilee Hills DC Prashanthi, EE Venkateshwarlu and others were present along with the Mayor during the inspection .
