Mahabubnagar, Nov.30 (NSS): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has urged the people of Palamuru district not to let deceptive promises hinder their development and to not lose the opportunity that has come after 70 years.
The Chief Minister made this appeal during his speech at a farmers’ festival held in Mahabubnagar on Saturday. He emphasised that the people’s government has spent Rs.54,000 crores for the benefit of farmers, reminding them that it was Congress governments that have consistently supported farmers in every way.
“November 29 holds special significance. Exactly one year ago, people voted enthusiastically for the people’s government, bringing an end to the autocratic rule and restoring a government that serves the people. Despite Krishna River continuing to flow through Palamuru, the district’s people have yet to see relief from their struggles. Many families have migrated to cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad in search of employment. After Burugula Ramakrishna Rao, it is after a long time that a son of Palamuru has become the Chief Minister again,” Revanth Reddy said.
The Chief Minister criticised the previous BRS government, stating, “Did the previous government fulfill its promise of farm loan waivers? Didn’t former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao say that cultivating paddy was like hanging oneself? This government, however, is providing Rs.500 bonus for paddy farmers and making their harvest a celebration. The past government spent Rs.1.02 lakh crores on the Kaleshwaram project, which collapsed within three years. This year, 1.5 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was harvested in the Telangana State,”.
He alleged that the previous government had promised loan waivers up to Rs.1 lakh, including interest, but deceived the farmers. The current Congress government, within one year, has waived Rs.21,000 crores in loans for 25 lakh farmer families. Has any State in the country achieved such a feat? I challenge Prime Minister Modi and KCR in this regard. The Congress party is also the one that gave free electricity to farmers,” Revanth Reddy said
The Chief Minister further emphasised the importance of industrial growth in Palamuru district. “In the past, no one took up land acquisition, no one built projects, no one set up industries. But I want to create jobs for the people here by establishing industries. However, there are people trying to block the industries with deceptive words. Those who listened to their lies are now caught in cases in Lagacherla. To develop the district, should we not undertake land acquisition? If authorities had not worked, would the Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar projects have been completed? Do not block progress by believing the false words of KCR, KTR and Harish Rao,” he asked.
The Chief Minister has reiterated that he is ready to provide higher compensation for land acquisition. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to establish industries here. We should not miss it. While KCR has a 1000-acre farmhouse in Gajwel, should we not acquire 1,300 acres of land for industries?” he questioned.
The Chief Minister promised the people of Palamuru that his government would provide employment and complete all pending projects. He also announced, “We will ensure that every farmer who gives land will receive a government job.” He assured that the loans of the district’s people would be cleared and emphasised that he would never deceive or do injustice to his people.
