Hyderabad, Jan.27 (RAHNUMA): The election schedule has been announced for 116 municipalities and 7 municipal corporations across the Telangana state.
The State Election Commission on Tuesday released a schedule for conducting the elections in a single phase. The election code has come into effect immediately across the state (excluding the GHMC area).
Polling will be held on February 11 and the counting of votes will take place on February 13.
Taking into account the Shivaratri festival, the beginning of the Ramadan fast, and other factors, the nomination process will begin on January 28.
State Election Commissioner Rani Kumudini finalised the schedule after holding a video conference with all district collectors, SPs, the DGP, the Chief Secretary, and others regarding the conduct of the elections. The total number of voters is 52.43 lakh.
