
Hyderabad, April 26 (RAHNUMA): The 33rd Yudhvir Foundation Memorial award is being presented to Dr. Gayatri Palat MD, in recognition of her distinguished contributions to the field of Palliative Care and extraordinary commitment to alleviating human suffering.
The Governor of Telangana Shiv Pratap Shukla will present the award on April 30 at KLN Prasad Auditorium, FTCCI, Red Hills, Hyderabad. The award comprises a citation and a cash prize of Rupees One Lakh.
The late Yudhvir was a renowned journalist, dedicated social worker, nature-lover, and family man. However, the role he would most want to be remembered for is that of a passionate freedom fighter. The Yudhvir Foundation was set up on 10th April 1991 to commemorate the life and work of late Yudhvir. The main aim of the Foundation is to propagate his noble ideals and to honour those who contribute to national integration, social service, culture, literature and service in fields of human endeavour. The trustees of the foundation are – Aruna Bahuguna – IPS Retd. (Chairperson), Amer Ali Khan, Tarun Kumar Jhawar, Nitin Bajaj and Vipma Vir (Secretary).
