
Hyderabad/New Delhi, May 2 (RAHNUMA): The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), has been honoured with the Subhas Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar 2025 for its outstanding contribution to disaster management and early warning systems.
The award, regarded as the highest national recognition in disaster management, was presented at the National Institute of Disaster Management in New Delhi by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to INCOIS Director Dr. T. M. Balakrishnan Nair. This award is a national honour announced annually on 23rd January, the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose.
INCOIS received a cash prize of Rs.51 lakh along with a certificate. The organisation was recognised for its advanced ocean forecasting systems and critical services, including Tsunami alerts, storm surge warnings and marine advisories.
The honour highlights INCOIS’s role in safeguarding coastal communities and strengthening India’s disaster resilience.
