Hyderabad, June 18 (RAHNUMA): BRS state general secretary and former minister T Jeevan Reddy alleged that the Congress government is attempting to weaken and eventually discontinue the “Rythu Bhima” farmers’ insurance scheme.
Addressing newsmen here on Thursday, the BRS leader claimed that families of around 7,600 deceased farmers had not received insurance benefits because the government allegedly failed to pay premiums to insurance companies. Describing the situation as a conspiracy against a scheme launched by former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Jeevan Reddy warned that dismantling successful welfare programmes could have political consequences.
