Hyderabad, Oct.9 (NSS): The Telangana government has formulated an 18-month action plan to complete a comprehensive statewide land resurvey, Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced on Friday.
Speaking at a review meeting with officials at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat, the Minister emphasised that the initiative aims to build a state free of land disputes.
To ensure quality and rapid execution, the government has appointed 14 supervisory officials two each from the Revenue and Survey departments—across seven zones. The officials are tasked with evaluating survey quality, monitoring public feedback, and making localized decisions as needed. A dedicated state-level dashboard will also be established in Hyderabad for real-time tracking, he said.
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy stated that the first phase of the project is currently underway in 2,768 villages, including 365 unmapped villages and 70 designated villages per district. Survey work has already been completed in 245 villages, with Phase 1 targeted for completion by the end of November.
Highlighting specific interventions, Srinivasa Reddy noted that a 45-acre discrepancy was detected out of 385 acres in Erravalli village, Siddipet district, prompting fresh survey notices. He affirmed that any assigned lands illegally transferred in the area will be reclaimed and redistributed to eligible poor families. (NSS)
