CEO refutes claims of 95 lakh voter deletions in Telangana

Hyderabad, Oct.9 (NSS): on Friday refuted reports claiming that 95 lakh votes have been purged from the state’s electoral rolls, dismissing the claims as false.

            Addressing the ongoing voter list verification process, Sudharsan Reddy clarified that 73,39,235 electors were categorised under the Absentee, Shifted, and Dead (ASD/VSD) list. As part of the review, authorities issued 92,23,486 notices to voters, while 64,701 notices remain pending distribution.

 According to official data, election officials have completed field verification for 82,11,205 electors so far. Of those verified, 74,62,851 individuals were deemed eligible and retained on the rolls, whereas 12,969 electors were identified as ineligible. Decisions remain pending for 18,12,367 electors.

            The CEO assured that all pending notices, claims, and objections will be disposed of by November 5, reinforcing that no mass arbitrary deletions have taken place. (NSS)
