Hyderabad, Oct.9 (NSS): The Telangana government has raised the height limit for residential apartments requiring a Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) from 18 metres to 24 metres. A fire tower will be mandatory for buildings exceeding 24 metres in height.
The government has also introduced a provision to facilitate ventilation in diesel generator (DG) rooms located in basements.
The changes follow consultations with representatives of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) and the Builders Federation.
Telangana Fire Services Director General Vikram Singh Mann issued orders implementing the revised regulations, which came into force on October 7, 2026.
The government aims to simplify the process of obtaining fire NOCs while ensuring compliance with prescribed fire safety measures in buildings. (NSS)
