Hyderabad, Oct.9 (NSS): Devmudraa Group will present “NrityArchana”, a thematic Kuchipudi dance offering, on Sunday, October 11, from 6 pm to 8 pm,at Sri Raja Rajeshwari Devasthanam, Amba Gardens, Mehdipatnam, here featuring devotional compositions and mythological narratives blending classical dance, music and storytelling.
The programme will showcase four presentations: Ranga Puja – Ganesh Vandana, the keerthana Rajarajeshwari Raave, Lalita Devi Charitam and Sri Narayana Varnamala.
Lalita Devi Charitam depicts Goddess Lalita Devi’s battle against the demon Bhandasura and the triumph of good over evil. Sri Narayana Varnamala, based on the devotional literary collection Akshara Hamsalu, presents the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu through 50 stanzas, combining Kuchipudi’s expressive, rhythmic and dramatic elements with music composed in 10 ragas.
The presentations are choreographed and directed by renowned Kuchipudi exponent Guru Dr Rajyalakshmi Seth, with Dr V Soumyasri Pawar serving as artistic director. The productions feature Peddinti Lahari, Swaralee Bhope and other artistes of the Devmudraa Group.
Established in 2007, Devmudraa, a registered trust and NGO, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, has trained more than 2,000 students and works to promote Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam across the Marathwada region and neighbouring districts. The organisation also offers structured Kuchipudi diploma training under the guidance of Dr Rajyalakshmi Seth. (NSS)
