Organized under the leadership of the Telangana State President Nagurla Venkateshwarlu, the shutdown aimed to address and resolve the various issues faced by dealers of fertilizers, pesticides and seeds. The Dealers from all districts, mandals and villages across Telangana State voluntarily participated in this shutdown to express their solidarity. Under the aegis of the Hyderabad Agriculture Inputs Merchants Association, all shops dealing in fertilizers, pesticides and seeds remained completely closed. On this occasion, the Association urged the state government to respond immediately and take appropriate action regarding the key issues currently confronting the dealers. These issues include FOL (Fertilizer on Link)-related problems, mandatory “link products,” the need for increased dealer margins, the status of HT Bt Cotton, the handling of expired stocks, sample collection procedures and the imposition of stringent penalties under new legislative acts.
