Hyderabad, Aug.9 (NSS): As a part of the MoU between the University of Western Australia and Osmania University, Andrew Collister, Consul General, Australian Consulate, visited the Centre for Australian Studies housed in Department of English, Osmania University.
The Consul General interacted with Prof. P. Laxminarayana, Registrar, Osmania University and discussed the prospects of stregthening academic collaboration. Prof. B. Vijaya, Head, Department of English and Director, Centre for Australian Studies, briefed the faculty and students about the Centre and possible exchange programmes.
Prof. Parimala Kulkarni, Coordinator of the Centre, elaborated on the collaborations between the two universities through the Australian Consulate. Prof. C. Muralikrishna, former Dean, Faculty of Arts and former Head, Department of English spoke about the genesis of the centre. Dr B. Ashok, Dy. Coordinator also spoke.
Prof. Talath Sultana, Principal of Arts College, Prof. Saveen, Dr Christopher, Dr Balu Naik and the students of the Department participated.
