
Hyderabad, May 11 (RAHNUMA): International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), Hyderabad, celebrated the 27th National Technology Day 2026 with participation from over 100 scientists, researchers, officers and students.
The event commemorated India’s technological achievements of May 11, 1998, while highlighting the importance of indigenous innovation and technological self-reliance.
ARCI Director Dr R. Vijay highlighted the institution’s work in translational research and advanced materials technologies during his welcome address.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Padma Shri awardee Dr K. Balasubramanian, Director of NFTDC, on the indigenous development of total knee prosthesis technology. He emphasised the role of advanced materials, precision manufacturing, and translational engineering in affordable healthcare solutions under the “Make in India” initiative.
ARCI also launched its new website during the celebrations, which concluded with interactive sessions, felicitation of the chief guest, and a group photograph.
