Hyderabad, July 1 (RAHNUMA): Major General G Srinivas, VSM, assumed charge as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Telangana & Andhra Sub Area on Wednesday. He paid homage to fallen soldiers at the War Memorial and laid a wreath in a solemn ceremony.
A seasoned artillery officer with over 35 years of service, Maj Gen Srinivas has held several key command and staff appointments, including at the UN mission in Congo and the College of Defence Management. As GOC, he will oversee military administration, veterans’ welfare and civil-military coordination across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
He is also M Phil in Defence and Security studies and an M Phil in Management Studies. During the career spanning thirty five years, the General Officer has held important Command, Staff and Instructional assignments to include an exposure with United Nations in Democratic Republic of Congo, Military Secretary Branch, Command of a Brigade in Strike Formation, Brigadier Quartermaster of a Corps, Chief Instructor at School of Artillery.
