Basic & Advance Military Training for newly inducted Agniveers completed

Hyderabad, June 4 (NSS)The Army Ordnance Corps Centre, Secunderabad, successfully completed the Basic and Advance Military Training for newly inducted Agniveers batch serial number – 03/23. The military training of 869 Agniveers began on November 1, 2023 under the Agnipath Scheme launched on Jun 14, 2022 by Ministry of Defence.

During the rigorous training, the Agniveers were made to undergo curriculum of 31 weeks designed meticulously to achieve the desired national aim. The Agniveers have exhibited exceptional dedication, discipline, physical prowess and would result into outstanding warriors in days to come. The traditional Passing-out Parade (POP) was held at the renowned ‘RU Parade Ground’ (Drill Square) and was witnessed by an impressive display of precision and camaraderie, as the Agniveers showcased their newly acquired marching skills and commitment. During the momentous occasion, these brave soldiers took oath and officially joined the ranks of the Army Ordnance Corps in presence of their family members and AOC fraternity.

The grand event was reviewed by Brigadier Ajeet Ashok Deshpande, Commandant, AOC Centre, and other military officials along with family members of Agniveers, who were commended for their unwavering dedication and impressive achievements throughout their training period.

Brigadier AA Deshpande, Commandant AOC Centre, complimented the Agniveers for successfully completing the rigorous training and moulding themselves into skilled soldiers as future of Indian Army and also wished them for their future endeavours during the tenure in field and peace areas. The reviewing Officer also complimented the highly competent Instructors of AOC Centre for their tireless efforts in shaping the Agniveers into trained soldiers and for presenting an excellent show of parade full of josh, courage and camaraderie. He further expressed his gratitude towards the parents of the Agniveers who have been brave enough to send their sons to serve the nation by joining Indian Army and also awarded Gaurav Padak to each one of them.

The razor-sharp crease of the trousers, the sound of the trumpet, the coordinated movement on a single command and the music of the rifles in the ramparts of the Golconda Fort, the scene was mesmerizing at the Passing out Ceremony for the third batch of Agniveers which took place at Artillery Centre, Hyderabad on June 4, 2024. The event was a history in the making where 2517 Agniveers have been absorbed into the Regiment of Artillery as Gunners, which is the largest course to be trained at any Regimental Centre. It was a proud moment for the staff who had relentlessly put in their efforts to transform raw boys into Agniveers and a matter of pride for the parents who bestowed their children towards the service of the motherland. The Agniveers post completion of their 31 weeks of physically grueling and mentally demanding training would be joining their parent Artillery Regiments. The Parade along with the parents was attended by various military and civilian dignitaries.

The Reviewing Officer Lieutenant Gen Rahul R Singh, VSM, GOC, 2 Corps & Colonel Commandant Regiment of Artillery in his address to the Agniveers conveyed that a new chapter has begun in the history of Indian Army and the nation as a whole as the Agniveers would be playing a major role in nation building by serving the motherland. The sense of discipline and camaraderie inculcated in them during their training will not only help them to serve in army, but also will facilitate in their bright future beyond. The bustles for Passing out Parade started a day prior on June 3, 2024 with the arrival of parents.

An Agniveer Combat Spectacle was organised at the Makhan Singh Stadium where the Agniveers showcased their Combat abilities in the form of Malkhamb, Combat Martial Arts, Torch Display and other programs followed by a Military Symphony. Earlier, in the day, the ceremony commenced with the wreath laying ceremony, where various dignitaries paid their homage to the fallen soldiers at War Memorial.

The Central Parade Ground of 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad wore a spectacular look with traditional military regalia on the occasion of the Passing out parade of third batch of Agniveers on 04 Jun 2024. The Passing out parade of 3rd Batch was reviewed by Brigadier Prashant Bajpai, Commandant, 1 EME Centre and a total of 280 Agniveers were passed out. The proud parents of Agniveers graced the ceremony.

The Basic Military Training of Third Batch of Agniveers of Corps of EME for the year 2023-24 commenced on November 1, 2023 at 1 EME Centre and culminated on January 9, 2024. Thereafter, the Agniveers commenced their Advance Military Training at 1 EME Centre the premier Technical Training Institute for Junior Commissioned Officers/ Other Ranks. The Centre up scaled many training facilities and show cased numerous best practices for other Regimental Centres. The Centre imparted them training in Armoured Fighting Vehicles, Telecommunication Equipments& Refrigeration Equipments for the Third batch of Agniveers.

 During the POP, Agniveers were presented medals by the Commandant, 1 EME Centre for outstanding performance in Academics, Physical fitness and Overall Best in Merit. He also lauded the Agniveer for their excellent efforts to make the parade absolutely impressive and magnificent. He also exhorted to dedicate themselves with utmost sincerity and devotion to uphold the honour, safety and integrity of the Nation.
