Hyderabad, July 13 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana BJP on Monday launched its “Singareni Bharosa Yatra” claiming that the Centre’s allocation of the Tadicherla-II coal block to the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has secured the PSU’s future while accusing the previous BRS and the present Congress governments of neglecting the organisation.
The two-day yatra, led by BJP state president N Ramchander Rao under the supervision of Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy, began in Hyderabad and reached Kothagudem amid a grand reception by party workers and Singareni employees.
Addressing a gathering, Rao said the allocation would enable coal mining for 40 to 50 years, generate thousands of jobs and strengthen Telangana’s economy. He alleged that successive BRS and Congress governments had pushed the SCCL into financial distress through negligence and corruption.
Taking a swipe at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Rao accused the Congress government of ignoring Singareni’s financial health while blaming the Centre for its own failures. He said the 1,200-km yatra would cover all Singareni regions to interact with workers and highlight the BJP-led Centre’s initiatives for the coal sector.
BJP National Vice President and MP Smt. DK Aruna, MLCs Anji Reddy, Malka Komuriah, and other key leaders, among others, are participating in this yatra.
