Hydra carries out demolitions in three areas of Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sept.8 (NSS): The Hydra, which has been cracking down on the encroachers of FTL and buffer zone areas of rivers and tanks, on Sunday carried out more demolitions. The Hydra officials reached the Ameenpur Pedda Cheruvu area  and demolished the illegal structures constructed in the FTL and buffer zones.

The Officials have found that the tank had shrunk due to the encroachments. The compound wall constructed in the FTL was demolished by the officials. A large number of policemen had been deployed to prevent any kind of tension in the area.

According to reports, the compound wall belongs to YSRCP leader from neighbouring AP Katasani Rambhupal Reddy. It is learnt that he had purchased 20 acres of land in the area a few years ago and built a compound wall around it. However, the compound was found to be in the FTL and buffer zone. Keeping this in mind, the demolition was carried out by the officials. On the other hand, the authorities had earlier found that the villas were constructed in violation of norms in the FTL and buffer zone of Mallampet Karwa tank under Dundigal municipality limits.

On Sunday morning, Hydra officials carried out demolition at Lakshmi Srinivasa Construction Villa in Mallampet. Following this, a large number of police personnel were deployed in the area. The local Tahsildar Matin said they had identified more than 20 unauthorised villas in the Mallampet tank. “At present, we are demolishing eight villas. The remaining villas will be evacuated and demolished. Notices will be issued to their owners as per the mark prescribed by the department,” he said.

While the demolitions are going on in Aminpur, Hydra also carried similar demolitions in Madhapur based Sunnam Cheruvu area. However, the locals tried to block the demolition. The owners of the houses got angry that the demolitions were being carried out without informing them. They alleged that goods worth crores of rupees were destroyed due to the demolitions.
