Hyderabad, May 15 (RAHNUMA): BRS working president KT Rama Rao visited the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospital in Sanathnagar on Friday and urged the Congress government to make it fully operational without further delay. The TIMS hospital, which was initiated by the prior BRS government to deliver top-tier healthcare to the citizens of Telangana, is set to be inaugurated shortly.
After his inspection, KT Rama Rao shared with reporters that the TIMS hospitals were designed following AIIMS standards to mitigate reliance on overcrowded facilities like Osmania, Gandhi, and NIMS.
He mentioned that the Sanathnagar TIMS facility was built with an investment of approximately Rs 1,200 crore, incorporating advanced technology and adhering to international standards. The goal was to provide exemplary treatment to underserved populations while decreasing dependence on private corporate hospitals,” KTR said.
“If the KCR government had remained in power, this hospital would have been operational by now. However, the Congress government has yet to finish the outstanding work even after two years,” he remarked.
The BRS working president pointed out that TIMS hospitals have been set up in Sanathnagar, LB Nagar, and Alwal, while a 2,000-bed government hospital is planned to construct in Warangal.
During the visit, KT Rama Rao asked the officials to promptly resolve issues regarding the functionality of the elevators in the hospital.
He also recalled the establishment of 350 Basti Dawakhanas throughout the State under the previous BRS government and urged the current administration to accelerate the remaining work at TIMS and make it accessible to the public.
