
Hyderabad, June 2 (NSS): Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi today said that the officials and public representatives should work collectively with dedication for the development of GHMC so that the state can move forward on the path of further development.
The mayor hoisted the national flag after receiving the police salute along with GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose at the GHMC headquarters on Sunday to mark the formation day of Telangana.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that by keeping in mind the needs of the people in the GHMC, everyone should be involved in the development of the city and added that all should work with dedication collective efforts.
She extended her greetings to the people of the city, officials and public representatives on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day. During the celebrations, the Mayor paid tributes to all those who lost their lives in the Telangana movement without caring for their lives.
She said that the state was formed on June 2 due to the united struggle of all sections of the people for the formation of Telangana state.
She did not elaborate on the welfare and development programmes being implemented in the GHMC as the code is in force in the wake of the Parliamentary elections.
