Hyderabad, July 4 (RAHNUMA): Claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the world’s “only ray of hope” for global peace amid escalating international conflicts, BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao on Saturday called for dialogue over war and urged students to become ambassadors of peace.
Addressing the ‘Glow Peace’ International Peace Conference at Delhi Public School here at Nacharam, Rao said the world is looking towards Modi to promote peace at a time when several nations are caught in prolonged conflicts.
Warning against the growing threat of nuclear warfare, he recalled the devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and said wars can never resolve disputes. “Peace must begin at home, in schools and society before it spreads across nations”, he told thousands of students, parents, teachers and spiritual leaders attending the event.
Rao praised the school for organising the conference and revealed that nearly one lakh postcards, including around 20,000 from DPS Nacharam students, would be sent to the Prime Minister urging him to champion global peace. He expressed confidence that the initiative would evolve into a nationwide and international peace movement.
