Sangareddy, Sept.9 (NSS): “The State government stands by the flood victims and will provide necessary support to prevent future incidents. Effective measures will be taken to stop floodwaters from entering homes,” said Minister for Health Damodar Raja Narasimha.
Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, along with former MLA Jagga Reddy, inspected the flood-affected areas of Sangareddy town, specifically the Revenue Colony and Sri Chakra Colony and instructed officials of the Irrigation and Municipal departments to take preventive measures.
The Minister observed that due to heavy rains and silted flood canals in the adjacent Errakunta and Chandrayya Kunta areas, water could not flow out, resulting in floodwaters entering approximately 130 houses in these colonies.
During the inspection, the Minister and former MLA observed the situation and instructed the officials to immediately desilt the flood canals and widen the outlets to prevent such incidents in the future.
The Minister interacted with the residents of these colonies, assuring them that the government would extend full support to the flood victims. He emphasized that all necessary steps will be taken to prevent such occurrences going forward.
Additional Collector Chandrashekhar and officials from the Irrigation and Municipal departments were also present during the inspection.
