Hyderabad, May 23 (NSS)The Ramagundam Routine Overhauling (RoH) Depot, one of the major freight depots of South Central Railway has received the prestigious ‘Integrated Management Systems’ (IMS) certification from Indian Register Quality Systems, a division of IRCLASS Systems and Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The Ramagundam depot is the only freight depot over SCR, which has been awarded with IMS certification. Improving overall housekeeping of the depot and streamlining the procedure of record keeping has helped to achieve this feat.

The Ramagundam Freight Depot located in Peddapalli District was established in the year 1982. The depot is carrying out various activities like ROH (Routine overhauling) attention, Yard examination and sick line attention of various types of wagons like BOXN, BOBRN, BCN etc. The Routine Overhauling outturn of this depot is 280 wagons per month. The depot is also carrying out ROH of private wagons like NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation).

An Integrated Management Systems (IMS) certification is a certification for multiple management system standards usually evaluated in a single audit. The certification validates that the Ramagundam Depot has successfully implemented and integrated management systems (such as quality management, environmental management, and occupational health and safety management), demonstrating its commitment in meeting various standards and regulations. The IMS certification will allow the freight depot to further streamline its processes and improve overall efficiency.

SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain congratulated Bhartesh Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and the mechanical wing of the Division for their efforts in achieving the IMS certification for Ramagundam Freight Depot. He stated that the certification will further enhance various aspects of operations, including quality and productivity. (NSS)
