Hyderabad, Aug.10 (RAHNUMA): The post-mortem examination of medical student Priyanka, 28, was completed at Gandhi Hospital here on Monday, with her family preparing to take her mortal remains to Eklaspur village in Aiza mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district.

State Minister Vakiti Srihari and Rajamahendravaram Urban MLA Srinivas consoled Priyanka’s father at the hospital. Rajamahendravaram TDP president Venkata Ramana Chowdary will accompany the body to the native village, while AP Minister T.G. Bharat is expected to hand over a Rs.20 lakh ex-gratia cheque announced by the Andhra Pradesh government.

Priyanka died on Sunday after suffering severe injuries when a car allegedly driven recklessly by two youths, under the influence of alcohol, rammed into her.

YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed shock and grief over her death. He said her parents had made significant sacrifices for her education and alleged that the incident exposed failures in the government and police machinery.
