
Hyderabad, Oct.7 (NSS): TGSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar has requested the officials of the police and transport departments to cooperate with their corporation to ensure safe transportation of passengers to their native places during Saddula Bathukamma and Dussehra festivals. He said that the implementation of the Mahalakshmi scheme this time was likely to be more difficult as compared to last year and urged them to provide assistance as in the past.
Sajjanar chaired a coordination meeting with police and transport department officials at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday. The RTC officials briefed them about the special buses arranged for Dasara and the measures to be taken in crowded areas through power point presentation.
Speaking on the occasion, Sajjanar recalled that the police and transport departments were extending a lot of support to the TGSRTC to ensure safe transportation of passengers to destinations during the festive season. He said that the police and transport departments also had a role to play in the growth of the organization.
He said that TGSRTC has a lot of experienced drivers who will be able to reach their destinations safely. He asked the officials to make people aware of the dangers posed by travelling in private vehicles.
“TGSRTC has made all arrangements to ensure that passengers going to their hometowns for Saddula Batukamma and Dussehra festivals do not face any difficulties. It operates 6304 special buses across the state for these festivals. In view of the implementation of Mahalakshmi scheme this time, it has been decided to roll out an additional 600 special services as compared to last year. There is a possibility of heavy rush from 9th to 12th of this month. Special buses are being made available to that extent. MGBS, JBS, Uppal Crossroads, LB Nagar Aramgarh, Kukatpally, Gachibowli, Boinpally, Jagadgirigutta, Suchitra, IS Sadan, Borabanda and Shamshabad in Hyderabad will witness heavy rush of passengers. We are setting up special camps in those areas to provide all facilities to the passengers. Monitoring officers have been appointed at every crowded area. They will make special buses available depending on the rush of passengers. Special volunteers have also been deployed to inform the passengers,” said Sajjanar,
For the convenience of it corridor employees, it has been planned to run buses to Vijayawada, Bengaluru and other places via Gachibowli ORR. 1602 buses are being operated from JBS, 1193 from LB Nagar, 585 from Uppal and 451 from Aramgarh. Special buses will also be arranged on the 13th and 14th of this month, when the return journey is high, he said.

Hyderabad City Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Vishwa Prasad said that the corporation would always have their support during the festival season. “We will work in coordination with TGSRTC to ensure that passengers are brought back to their homes safely,” he said.
