
Hyderabad, June 16 (RAHNUMA): The South Central Railway has been conferred with the prestigious National Signal & Telecommunication Award at the International Convention and Exhibition 2026 held in New Delhi. The Zone was adjudged the Best Performing Zonal Railway for its exemplary implementation of Kavach and Digital Electronic Interlocking Systems.
The International Convention and Exhibition, 2026 was held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from June 10 to 13. The event focused on designing, developing and manufacturing AI-driven next-generation railway control, command and signalling systems for the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Around 10,000 delegates representing 30 Railway organizations, 25 premier academic institutions and nearly 200 exhibitors participated in the exhibition.
Following SCR’s National Signal & Telecommunication Award win, Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer Murali Krishna and his team met Sanjay Kumar Srivastava at Rail Nilayam on Tuesday. Congratulating the team on the achievement, the General Manager praised their dedication and emphasized the importance of modern signalling and communication systems for safe and efficient train operations. He urged the department to maintain the momentum and continue advancing modernization initiatives during the current financial year.
During the financial year 2025–26, SCR has commissioned 21 Digital Electronic Interlocking Systems, implemented Kavach 4.0 over 486 Route Kms and commissioned Automatic Block Signalling over 479 Route Kms, further strengthening safety and operational efficiency.
