PRIP launches AI -powered entrepreneurship & incubation initiative for pharmacy students

Hyderabad, June 16 (RAHNUMA): Pulla Reddy Institute of Pharmacy (PRIP), under the Gayathri Educational Society, has launched a new Entrepreneurship & Incubation Initiative aimed at equipping pharmacy students with skills in artificial intelligence, healthcare innovation, startup development, and venture creation.

The programme, beginning in June 2026, will be open to B.Pharma, M.Pharma and Pharm.D. students and seeks to prepare them for emerging opportunities in healthcare technology, digital health, research-driven innovation, product development and entrepreneurship.

“Our vision is to ensure students graduate not only with strong clinical knowledge but also with the confidence to build their own ventures”, said Aditya Chilumula, Director of PRIP. “We are creating an ecosystem that nurtures the next generation of healthcare innovators and founders.”

The initiative will provide mentorship from faculty members, pharmaceutical industry professionals, healthcare technology experts, patent consultants and startup advisors. Students will receive guidance in transforming academic concepts into practical healthcare solutions and commercially viable innovations.

According to Dr. Varun Dasari, Principal of PRIP, the programme will combine AI workshops, startup mentoring, industry-linked projects and research-driven learning to complement traditional pharmacy education.

In its first year, the institute plans to conduct structured innovation workshops, support student-led healthcare projects, facilitate prototype development, provide patent guidance and strengthen industry collaborations.

The initiative comes as Hyderabad continues to strengthen its position as a global pharmaceutical and life sciences hub. Students are already exploring projects such as AI-based medicine inventory management systems, smart medication adherence platforms for elderly patients and affordable nutraceutical and wellness products.

PRIP said the long-term goal is to foster a campus culture where entrepreneurship, research and social impact become integral components of pharmaceutical education.
