Telangana Cabinet to meet today: Focus on Tummidihatti, employee benefits

Hyderabad, May 3 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana Cabinet is set to convene on Monday. The meeting will occur at the Secretariat at 3 PM, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy presiding.

It is anticipated that the Cabinet will focus on the Tummidihatti Barrage project. In a recent meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy approved the construction of a barrage at Tummidihatti, to be built at a height of 150 meters as part of the Pranahita-Chevella initiative, which will facilitate the transfer of water to Sripada Yellampalli.

Four potential routes have been suggested for the water transport from Thummidihatti to Yellampalli. The Cabinet is expected to review these proposals and make a decision. Additionally, the Council of Ministers is likely to consider issues and requests related to employees and pensioners.

The government plans to address outstanding payments for employees and pensioners within 100 days, and a corresponding action plan will be decided upon during the Cabinet meeting.

There is a chance that discussions may also include outstanding Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears and the government’s cashless treatment schemes.

Reports indicate that other topics may be addressed as well, including the integration of RTC employees into government service, the introduction of new Aasara pensions, provisions for activists of the Telangana movement, and the Indiramma Bheema scheme.
