Hyderabad, Aug.24 (RAHNUMA): Japan’s transformation from the devastation caused by the atomic bombings into a global economic powerhouse is an inspiration to the entire world, Minister for Power, Labour, Employment, Training & Factories and Mines Vivek Venkataswamy said.
He said Telangana needed to adopt and promote several practices that had contributed to Japan’s development, particularly discipline, skill development, technological advancement, research and stronger linkages between industries and educational institutions.
As part of his visit to Japan, Minister Vivek Venkataswamy, accompanied by SHAKTI Department Secretary Dasari Harichandana, TOMCOM General Manager Nagabharathi and others, visited Kindai University on Monday.
The delegation held discussions with university representatives on education, skill development, research, industry-oriented training and technological cooperation.
Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Venkataswamy said Japan had developed an education system that exposed students to industry requirements, modern technologies and job-oriented skills while they pursued their university education.
Japanese universities, he said, focused not only on awarding degrees but also on fostering research and innovation, thereby preparing students for employment opportunities and the evolving needs of industries.
Telangana, too, needed stronger linkages among educational institutions, industries and skill development organisations, he said. The State government was ready to collaborate with Japanese institutions to promote advanced technology training, research, industry-oriented courses and skill development programmes, Vivek Venkataswamy said.
Strengthening educational and technological cooperation between universities in Telangana and educational institutions in Japan was one of the government’s key objectives, Vivek Venkataswamy said. The visit would also help facilitate Japanese technological cooperation for Telangana’s Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs), he said.
The government aimed to work with Japanese universities and industries on joint training, research and technology exchange programmes to equip Telangana’s youth with globally competitive skills, the Minister said.
He added that the exchange of knowledge and expertise among students, faculty and researchers from the two countries would create new opportunities for innovation and strengthen cooperation in education, technology and skill development.
