Jupally to kickstart ‘Adivasi Tourism’ drive at Utnoor on April 22

Hyderabad, April 20 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao will launch the ‘Adivasi Tourism Exposure Programme’ at Utnoor on April 22, marking the rollout of a novel initiative aimed at empowering tribal communities through experiential learning.

The initiative stems from the Minister’s interaction with tribal residents during his earlier visit to Kummarikumta village in Utnoor mandal, where he had assured them of an opportunity to visit Hyderabad and experience its development and historical legacy.

Fulfilling that assurance, Jupally Krishna Rao will formally flag off the programme at 6 AM at Gondguda.

Envisioned as more than a routine tour, the programme seeks to provide participants with meaningful exposure to urban life, contemporary development, and the State’s rich heritage.

Around 650 tribal participants from the Utnoor region are expected to take part in the initiative, which aims to build a bridge between indigenous traditions and modern aspirations.

The programme has been structured in three phases from April 22 to 26, with participants travelling in batches of 200 to 250 each. The Tourism department has arranged five special air-conditioned buses for the tour.

During their visit, participants will cover key landmarks in Hyderabad, including the international airport, Charminar, Golconda Fort, Taramati Baradari, Lumbini Park, and Shilparamam, offering them a comprehensive glimpse of the city’s cultural and developmental landscape.

The Minister has directed officials to ensure seamless arrangements, with no compromise on accommodation and food facilities. Participants will be accommodated at the historic Taramati Baradari, where the Tourism Department has made elaborate arrangements to extend warm hospitality.

For many participants, particularly those from remote forest regions, the visit is expected to be a memorable and enriching experience.

Officials from the Tourism department, along with the Adilabad district collector and ITDA authorities, are overseeing the arrangements.
