Jupally welcomes NITI Aayog’s endorsement of Telangana tourism model

Hyderabad, July 4 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Tourism, Culture, Prohibition & Excise Jupally Krishna Rao has welcomed NITI Aayog’s appreciation of Telangana’s tourism and hospitality reforms, describing it as a significant endorsement of the State’s progressive policy framework and investor-friendly governance.

Referring to NITI Aayog’s recent report, “Unlocking Growth in Tourism and Hospitality Sector,” Jupally Krishna Rao said the recognition of Telangana’s Ease of Doing Business initiatives reflects the State’s sustained efforts to create a conducive ecosystem for tourism investments and position itself as a preferred destination for the hospitality industry.

The report highlights Telangana’s policy reforms, including the simplification of hotel development regulations, greater flexibility in land use, streamlined approval mechanisms, enhanced Floor Area Ratio (FAR) provisions, rationalised parking norms, and a strengthened single-window clearance system. NITI Aayog has also recommended that other States examine Telangana’s model for facilitating investments in the tourism and hospitality sector.

In a statement on Saturday, Jupally Krishna Rao said these reforms, implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, have significantly enhanced investor confidence and accelerated private participation in the tourism sector. The Telangana Tourism Policy 2025- 2030 has already generated encouraging investor interest, paving the way for substantial investments, employment generation, and sustainable tourism-led economic growth, he said.

The Minister recalled that this is not the first time NITI Aayog has acknowledged Telangana’s achievements in tourism. On earlier occasions too, the State’s tourism destinations and best practices had found a place in NITI Aayog’s reports. The latest recognition of Telangana’s Ease of Doing Business initiatives further validates the government’s consistent efforts to promote transparent, reform-oriented, and investor-centric governance in the tourism sector, he said.

Jupally Krishna Rao reaffirmed the government’s commitment to pursuing progressive reforms, strengthening tourism infrastructure, and ensuring seamless facilitation for investors. These efforts, he said, would further position Telangana as one of India’s most attractive destinations for tourism and hospitality investments.

“NITI Aayog’s appreciation is a matter of pride for Telangana. It reflects the success of our reform-driven approach and our unwavering commitment to ease of doing business in the tourism sector. Under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, we will continue to create a robust investment ecosystem, unlock the State’s immense tourism potential, and establish Telangana as a leading tourism destination in the country,” Jupally Krishna Rao said.
