Mandaviya announces Ramagundam ESI hospital, Nacharam nursing college by next year

Hyderabad, July 14 (RAHNUMA): Union Minister for Labour and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya has announced that the 100-bed ESI Hospital at Ramagundam and the ESI Nursing College at Nacharam will be made operational by next year.

Responding positively to a request made by Minister for Labour, Employment and Mines Dr. G. Vivek Venkatswamy, and Peddapalli MP G. Vamshi Krishna, the Union Minister assured that both prestigious projects would be completed on priority and brought into service at the earliest.

The announcement was made after Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Vivek Venkatswamy jointly inaugurated the new Outpatient Department (OPD) Block at the ESIC Hospital, Sanathnagar, Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Vivek Venkatswamy said that under the leadership of Mansukh Mandaviya, the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has been taking significant steps to provide better healthcare services to workers across the country.

The Minister recalled visiting the Sanathnagar ESIC Hospital during the tenure of his father, former union labour minister Kaka Venkataswamy, and said he was deeply impressed by the remarkable transformation the hospital has undergone.

He noted that the establishment of a full-fledged Cardiac Care Centre, availability of bypass surgeries, a state-of-the-art dialysis unit and advanced cancer treatment facilities reflect the rapid expansion of ESIC healthcare services.

Vivek stated that ESI services in Telangana currently cover around 20 lakh insured persons, benefiting nearly 80 lakh people, including their family members. To reduce the patient burden on the Sanathnagar ESIC Hospital, he urged the Union Minister to upgrade the ESIC hospitals at Ramachandrapuram and Nacharam into advanced healthcare centres.

Highlighting Ramagundam as the largest industrial region in Telangana after Hyderabad, Dr. Vivek said a 100-bed ESIC Hospital is essential to provide quality healthcare to thousands of industrial workers in the region.

He pointed out that although the project had received approval earlier, the tender process had stalled and requested its immediate revival. Responding to the appeal, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya assured that the construction would be expedited so that the hospital becomes operational next year.
