RAJGOPAL REDDY’s OPEN REVOLT EXPOSES RIFT IN CONG

Hyderabad, July 1 (RAHNUMA): Fresh cracks surfaced in the ruling Congress on Wednesday as Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy openly criticised the party leadership over its style of functioning and key appointments.

Explaining his absence from the recent Nalgonda meeting, Rajgopal Reddy said decisions were being taken unilaterally from Hyderabad without consulting senior leaders. He expressed resentment over appointments to the Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple trust board, claiming he was ignored despite representing the region. “I am an MLA from the Yadagirigutta region and a senior Congress leader. How can decisions be made without seeking my opinion?”, he questioned.

The senior MLA said he had already discussed the issue with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and would also raise it with PCC chief B Mahesh Goud and state in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan. He alleged that original Congress leaders were being sidelined while newcomers were dominating the party.
