Kothagudem, June 27 (NSS): Dismissing the negative propaganda of opposition on farmers’ loan waiver, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has reiterated that the Congress government is committed to implement Rs 2 lakh loan waiver and it will soon prove the opposition wrong.
He reminded that the opposition earlier propagated that the Cong government would not give the Rytu Bandhu amount, but it deposited Rs 7,500 crore at one go in farmers’ bank accounts.
Bhatti Vikramarka participated in several development works related to drinking water and roads in Kothagudem on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that despite several problems, the Congress government would implement loan waiver for farmers well before August and no one could prevent this.
On Rythu Bharosa, he said public opinion would be gathered on who should be the beneficiaries, how to distribute the amount and then guidelines would be formulated and tabled in the Assembly for a discussion.
“A legislation will be passed in the Assembly and the Rytu Bharosa will be implemented for farmers,” he disclosed.
He stated that the State government will be accountable for public money and will not let it be misused.
The leaders who ruled the Telangana State for 10 years had looted the treasury and distributed the funds indiscriminately. They burdened the State with Rs 7 lakh crores and fled, he criticised.
Bhatti exuded confidence that their government would create wealth and distribute it for welfare schemes.
He alleged that the previous government had borrowed Rs 42,000 crore in the name of Mission Bhagiratha, but it could not provide household drinking water supply.
In Kothagudem town, there is a need now to spend Rs 150 crore for drinking water supply . Similarly in Alair of Nalgonda district, govt would have to spend Rs 150 crore for providing drinking water as the previous govt did not spend funds judiciously, the Deputy Chief Minister said.
Bhatti Vikramarka also said that he would discuss with Singareni management to provide land for construction of IT hub in Kothagudem.
Referring to the Sitarama Project, Bhatti criticised that the previous rulers had spent Rs 9,000 crore, but failed to release water to even one acre.
The Cong party soon after forming government, got the details of all pending projects and identified them as projects that could be completed in six months, one year, three years and five years. These projects would be completed on priority basis and irrigation facility would be extended. Water would also be released through Sitarama project very soon, he said. The link canal to Wyra project is being coordinated at a cost of Rs 70 crore, Bhatti added. (NSS)
