Hyderabad, June 17 (RAHNUMA): Two University of Hyderabad (UoH) alumni have propelled Indian agricultural innovation onto the global stage, securing major international partnerships at Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France.
ATGC Biotech, a pioneering company co-founded by two distinguished UoH alumni, Dr. Markandeya Gorantla and Dr. V.B. Reddy. was among 120 deep-tech startups selected to showcase India’s cutting-edge innovations before global investors, policymakers and industry leaders.
The company announced two significant agreements: a licensing deal with Albaugh Europe for six crop-protection products based on its patented pheromone technology, and the expansion of its global footprint through SEMIOPHORE LTD., a joint venture with Luxembourg Industries Ltd. to develop 18 products for international markets.
Founded in Hyderabad’s Genome Valley, ATGC Biotech specializes in eco-friendly pheromone-based crop protection that disrupts pest breeding cycles without harmful insecticides. The technology has already been deployed across more than 200,000 acres worldwide.
The achievement highlights the growing global influence of University of Hyderabad alumni and India’s emergence as a hub for world-class agricultural biotechnology innovation.
